Classes offered through the Center for Film Studies and Macomb Community College

 

Scenic Design Group is now offering in Set & Prop Design classes for those looking to get their hands dirty and immersed in creating faux environments and props for sets, from film to stage to themed entertainment venues.

Hands-on experiences will show you how to create anything from giant ice cream cones to light weight man hole covers or gargoyles, to meet the clients needs and requests.

 

Learn the role of molding synthetic materials to create all manner of props; from harmless shattering beer bottles to four-pound manhole covers. This course will not only cover mold-making techniques, but also thoroughly examine the various materials; their properties, and their costs to determine the best solutions for unique circumstances.

 

 

Topics Include: Established Mold Techniques • Material Properties & Uses • Industry Terms • Variety Of Molding Projects (Using Frames, Solid Block, Two-Part, Comparative Castings)
